With the third official 6aside World Cup due to take place in Budapest in September, Leisure Leagues have announced their funding package for the England 6aside team to play in the event.
A fund of £50,000 will be made available to the England team to cover the squads flights, accommodation, food, transport links, and full clothing requirements to take part in the prestigious event.
A spokesman for Leisure Leagues said “Our investment in the England 6aside team is vital because it means that the players do not have to put their hands in their own pockets, or the team management have to worry about other sponsors, so they are free to just concentrate on getting ready for the tournament”.
“Our continued investment means that for the duration of the World Cup the England squad will stay in the best hotels, and eat the best food, and be fully looked after by our administration team during the event so that they are totally prepared to try and win the World Cup for England”.
The team is managed by Henry Muggeridge and Arjun Jung, who said “We are already getting significant financial assistance from Leisure Leagues with new banners, training equipment and training clothing, and also we have had features on the BBC about our preparation for the World Cup, so it is great news to know that once again Leisure Leagues are backing the England squad in a major tournament, and we couldn’t be more delighted”.
The World Cup in Budapest will feature 40 countries from around the world and will be played in a purpose-built outdoor stadium in the centre of Budapest between the 10th and 19 September.
